LEMON OIL


Refreshing Cleanser - Citrus limon. Family: Rutaceae (citrus)

HISTORY

Citrus trees originated in the Orient. Lemon oil is first described in Arabic herbals during the 12th century. However, citrus fruits were not known in Europe until after Marco Polo’s visit to China in the late 13th century.

PROPERTIES

Lemon has a strong, purifying, citrus scent that is revitalizing and uplifting. Lemon consists of 68 percent D-limonene, a powerful antioxidant. In his book, The Practice of Aromatherapy, Valnet wrote that lemon is a tonic for supporting the nervous and sympathetic nervous system.

USES

For dietary, aromatic or topical use. It is delightfully refreshing in water and may be beneficial for the skin. Lemon may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods. When using as a supplement, put one drop in a capsule or in 4 fl. oz. of soy or rice milk.

LAVENDER OIL


Fragrant Healer - Lavandula angustofolia. Family: Lamiaceae (mint)

HISTORY

Called “The First Aid Kit in a Bottle,” Lavender is an ancient oil of countless uses. According to Rev. Janet McBride (Scriptural Essence), lavender was used in worship by Moses and the priests of the Old Testament.

PROPERTIES

Lavender has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. Therapeutic-grade lavender is highly regarded for skin and beauty. It may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations.

USES

For dietary, aromatic or topical use. When using as a supplement, put one drop in a capsule or in 4 fl. oz. of rice or goat’s milk. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy.

Spiritual Awakener - Boswellia carteri. Family: Burseraceae (frankincense & myrrh)

HISTORY

Frankincense is considered the holy anointing oil in the Middle East, where it has been used in religious ceremonies for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians used it in rejuvenation face masks. More recently, it has been used in European and American hospitals and is the subject of substantial research.

PROPERTIES

Frankincense has a sweet, warm, balsamic aroma that is stimulating and elevating to the mind. Useful for visualizing, improving one’s spiritual connection, and centering, it has comforting properties that help focus the mind and overcome stress and despair.

USES

Can be inhaled, applied to the skin, or taken internally. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as soy or rice milk.

HISTORY

Tea Tree is a native of Australia applied for many purposes by Aborigines for centuries. Citronella and lemongrass have been used as antiseptics and insect repellants for thousands of years. Meanwhile, rosemary oil has been diffused as a disinfectant and air purifier in European hospitals for more than 300 years.

PROPERTIES

Purification® can be used directly on the skin to cleanse and soothe insect bites, cuts, and scrapes. When diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from environmental impurities including cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors.

USES

For topical or aromatic use. Diffuse, apply topically on location as needed, or put on cotton balls to place in air vents of home, car, hotel room and office. Diffuse and rub on feet for cleansing.

Giver of Courage - Blue Tansy, Frankincense, Rosewood, and Spruce in a base of Almond Oil

HISTORY

These oils were used by ancient Egyptians, Assyrians, Babylonians, and Romans because of their ability to stimulate energy, strength, bravery, and courage.

PROPERTIES

Valor® works with both the physical and spiritual aspects of the body to increase feelings of strength, courage, and self-esteem in the face of adversity (including fears, anxieties, stage fright). It has also been found to help energy alignment in the body.

USES

Inhale, or apply to wrists, chest, shoulders, temples, base of neck, soles of feet, or along the spine. Add 2-4 drops to bath water or hot tub. Apply at bedtime to help release your worries.

The Peacemaker - A Blend of Blue Tansy, Orange, Patchouli, Tangerine, and Ylang Ylang Oils

HISTORY

The properties of essential oils for calming, mood-elevating, and emotional releasing are recognized in both Old and New Testaments (Psalms 45:7-8; Proverbs 27:9; Isaiah 61:3; Hebrews 1:9) and were employed for those purposes in Egypt more than a thousand years before Moses.

Suffering’s Gone - A Blend of Clove, Helichrysum, Peppermint, and Wintergreen Oils

HISTORY

Clove oil dates back to Egyptian times and has been used through the centuries as a local anesthetic for toothaches and dental work. Wintergreen is mainly as a flavoring for gums, candies, and soft drinks, but also as an ingredient in liniments and ointments for muscle aches.

PROPERTIES

PanAway® was created by Gary Young following a severe injury to the ligaments in his leg. PanAway is soothing to the skin while providing comforting warmth to muscles after exercise.

USES

For aromatic use. Apply to the bottoms of feet and follow with topical application on location. Rub on temples, back of neck, or forehead, or inhale for a soothing effect. Use with a warm compress along the spine.

HISTORY

Mints have been collected and cultivated for their health and medicinal benefits in many places including China, Japan, Egypt, and the Holy Land. A type of mint has been found in Egyptian tombs dating to 1000 B.C.

PROPERTIES

One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion; it may also restore digestive efficiency. Many notable scientists have shown that it has a supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems, improves taste and smell when inhaled, improves concentration and mental sharpness and triggers a sensation of fullness after meals.

USES

For dietary, aromatic, or topical use. When using as a supplement, dilute one drop in 4 fl. oz. of liquid such as goat’s or rice milk. Peppermint may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Protector from Plagues - A Blend of Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus, Lemon, and Rosemary Oils

HISTORY

Four infamous thieves in France protected themselves from the black plague with cloves, rosemary, and other aromatics while robbing victims of the killer disease. When captured, they were offered a lighter sentence in exchange for their secret recipe.

PROPERTIES

This proprietary essential oil blend was university-tested for its cleansing abilities. It is highly effective in supporting the immune system and good health.

USES
